Murray the master?
fter experiencing his first Grand Slam final at Flushing Meadows last year, Andy Murray returns to Flushing Meadows expecting, rather than hoping, to mount another serious title charge.
His 6-2 7-5 6-2 defeat to five-time US Open champion Roger Federer was undoubtedly a learning curve, and with a 53-8 record behind him this season, Murray heads back to the scene of his defeat in buoyant mood.
But can anyone stop Federer? The Swiss ace has dominated the event for the last five years and shows absolutely no sign of letting the trophy out of his sight.
The world number one was in ruthless mood in Cincinnati, powering past both Murray and Novak Djokovic before clinching the title and sending another timely reminder to his rivals ahead of the New York showpiece.
However, since Murray's US Open final loss last summer, the 22-year-old has beaten Federer in four of their last five meetings - all of which have been on the concrete.
Wins in Madrid, Shanghai, Doha and Indian Wells saw the new world No.2 have the Indian Sign over Federer, however the 28-year-old bounced back with a 6-2 7-6 victory over his rival in Cincinnati.
So what do you all think... Can Murray can stop Federer's charge for an unprecedented sixth US Open singles title this year?
The Scotsman proved he has the hardcourt game by winning the US Open junior title in 2004, but can he handle the pressure at the latter stages of a Grand Slam?
Is Murray the only man who can stop Federer or will Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick also have a say in the destination of the singles title?
Or maybe an unseeded player will sneak through and take the event by storm?
